KERRVILLE, Texas - After two rounds of play at the 2022 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Championships, Seattle U women's golf sit in third place as a team with a team score of 35-over 611. Reigning WAC champions, New Mexico State, remain atop at 21-over, while Sam Houston claims the second spot at 27-over.
Senior Samantha Bruce improved upon her first round score by one stroke, moving into a tie for fourth place at three-over 147 (74-73). Bruce now ranks tied for second in par four scoring (4.05), and tied for sixth in par five scoring (4.88).
Junior Azumi Arai was the next best Redhawk, tying for 13th after shooting a 78 in round two for a two-round total of 152. Graduate student Keisha Lugito (75-80) currently sits three strokes behind her, while junior Megan Kelly holds a two-round total of 160 (81-79). Freshman Samantha Yates came in for fellow freshman Annika Cruz in round two, shooting an 85 in her sole round so far.
The third and final round of the WAC Championships begin on Wednesday, Apr. 20 at 5:30 a.m. pacific time with Seattle U being one of the last teams to tee off at 7:45 a.m.
