SEATTLE - After helping the Seattle U Redhawks to a three-game sweep of Dixie State this weekend, Stefanie Madrigal earned her second WAC Pitcher of the Week award of the year. Madrigal had two complete-game wins, allowing only one unearned run across 14 innings of work.
Madrigal is now 10-0 in WAC play in her career. She currently leads the WAC in both wins (14) and ERA (2.01) and is one of only three pitchers in the WAC to throw 110+ innings this season. So far this season, Madrigal is 5-0 in WAC play with a 2.15 ERA. The Redhawks are 15-5 in games in which Madrigal appears this season. Madrigal has already set new career highs in wins, complete games, innings pitched, and saves.
This is Madrigal's third career WAC Pitcher of the Week award and second this season. She joins Shi Smith, Carley Nance, and Andie Larkins as the only Redhawks ever to earn multiple WAC Pitcher of the Week awards in the same season. No Redhawk has ever earned three Pitcher of the Week awards in the same season. Including Hitter of the Week awards, Madrigal joins Smith, Nance, Larkins, Madison Cathcart, and Bailey Thompson as the only Redhawks with multiple weekly awards in the same season.
