BANDON, Ore. - Seattle U men's golf concluded its second tournament of March on Tuesday at the Bandon Dunes Invitational, hosted by Idaho, in Bandon, Oregon, finishing seventh out of 15 teams. Senior Jack Rahon led the way for SU, tying for 11th with a three-round total of 217 (76-71-70).
The Redhawks posted a team score of 31-over 883, with its best round of three-under 281 coming in the third round today. They finished third in par three scoring at six-over and averaged 3.10, while leading the field in birdies (41) and tying for first in eagles (2). The three-day, 54-hole event took place at the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort on the 6,748 yards Sheep Ranch course with a par of 71.
Senior Nathan Cogswell (71-80-68) was the next best Redhawk, finishing tied for third in par three scoring (one-under) and par five scoring (five-under) as well as tying for second in made birdies (11). Fellow senior Federico Gutierrez (79-75-68) tied his season low round of 68 and finished tied for fourth in made birdies (10). Sophomore Blake Kukula and freshman Liam Gill round out the team score with three-round totals of 225 (74-76-75) and 235 (79-81-75).
Senior Harrison Murphy and junior Alex Fowke conclude Seattle U's participation in the tournament, posting three round totals of 236 (80-78-78) and 237 (84-79-74).
The Redhawks next scheduled event takes them to Eugene, Oregon, for the Duck Invitational at the Eugene Country Club from March 21-22.
