LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Seattle U women's tennis concluded its two day stay in Las Vegas, Nevada, Saturday against UNLV at the Fertitta Tennis Complex. The Rebels got off to a fast start and never slowed down, winning in a decisive 7-0 sweep on their home courts.
UNLV started the match by claiming the doubles point. Seniors Hannah Grossman and Jillian Rasmussen (1-6) paired up against Izumi Asano and Cindy Hu, while fellow senior Aranza Alvarez Sanabria and freshman Liliya Dimova (2-6) teamed up against Aura Fang and CoCo Zhao. The remaining doubles match went unfinished because the Rebels had already claimed the doubles point.
In singles play, freshman Mireia Fehr (3-6, 2-6) faced off against Molly Helgesson, while Dimova (3-6, 1-6) battled against Zita Kovacs and fellow freshman Jade Quintana (4-6, 3-6) put together two competitive sets against Asano on court three. Grossman (0-6, 0-6) dropped her match against Hu, while Alvarez Sanabria (1-6, 0-6) took on Salsa Aher and Rasmussen (1-6, 4-6) rounds out singles play against Zhao.
Seattle U takes a weekend off before traveling to San Luis Obispo, Calif, for two matches on Mar. 20-21 against Cal Poly and Santa Clara at the Mustang Tennis Complex with the former starting at 9:30 a.m. and the latter starting at 11 a.m.
