HAVING A WAC-Y TIME
After another series win, the Redhawks have now won 14 consecutive WAC series, building on a program record. Seattle U has not lost a WAC series since 2018, when it dropped two of three games at New Mexico State. Since that time, the Redhawks are 36-9 in WAC play, including 6-0 in the WAC Tournament. The Redhawks have gone 9-4 in series openers in that time.
THE OFFENSE, IT IS GOOD
The Redhawks set single-game program records in both runs scored (16) and hits (25) in the series finale at Utah Valley. Seattle U had previous scored 15 runs twice in its history, at UC Santa Barbara in 2018 and against Cal Poly in 2019. Seattle U's previous single-game hits record was 17, set at UMKC in 2017. It was Seattle U's third double-digit scoring output this year: the Redhawks have had multiple double-digit scoring games in each of the last five full seasons.
POW POW POWER BAT
Carley Nance took over the WAC lead in RBI and is now third in home runs after homering in all three games against Utah Valley. Nance's nine home runs are already the seventh-most in a single season in Seattle U history; she needs just one more to join Bailey Thompson, Madison Cathcart, Jane Purdy, and Bubba Morrow as the only Redhawks ever to hit double-digit homers in a single year. She needs two more RBI to become the sixth Redhawk ever with a 40-RBI season.
TAI-RIFFIC
Tai Wilson finished the Utah Valley with a career-best four-hit day, just the eighth four-hit day in Seattle U history. Wilson is the first freshman to record a four-hit game in Seattle U history. She joins Madison Kahwaty, who had a four-hit game earlier this year, as the only Redhawks to do so in their first season at Seattle U.
WHAM BAM KAM
Since the beginning of conference play, Kamryn Coleman is hitting .353, with hits in four of six games. Coleman has started every game in WAC play. The junior had three hits in her first 17 games: she has six in her last five, including three in her last game, at Utah Valley.
NOT SO MILD
Brooke Milder set a new career high with a four-RBI game against Utah Valley. Milder has hit .361 since returning from injury. That includes three multi-hit games and just three hitless games.
ALL SHE DOES IS WIN
Stefanie Madrigal recorded her WAC-leading 11th and 12th wins last weekend to remain undefeated in her career against WAC opponents. Madrigal is now 8-0 in 12 WAC appearances in her career, with Seattle U going 9-3 in those games. Madrigal is currently first in the WAC in wins, third in ERA, and ninth in strikeouts. Madrigal is the only player in the WAC to throw more than 85 innings while suffering fewer than five losses thus far.
