CORVALLIS, Ore. - Seattle U track and field open the 2022 outdoor season Saturday with the Oregon State PNW Invitational in Corvallis, Oregon, at the Whyte Track & Field Center.
Field events are scheduled to get under way at 10 a.m. with the hammer throw, while the track events start at 1 p.m. with the men's 3000m steeplechase. The day concludes with the 4x400m relay at 5:55 p.m.
On the men's side, the meet will feature representatives from Cal Poly Humboldt, College of Idaho, George Fox, Linfield, Oregon and Western Oregon, while the women's field will feature all those schools and Oregon State.
During the indoor season, Seattle U set new school records seven different times and 35 current athletes hold spots on the all-time top-10 indoor list. Senior Tricht Jocelyn set the 60m school record in three consecutive meets and posted a new school record time in the 200m twice. Junior Lucas Milne broke the first school record of the year in the 60m hurdles and concluded the season by breaking his own school record in the heptathlon.
Redshirt sophomore Alex Franklin set the second all-time mark in the 800m at the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Championships, earning All-WAC Second Team honors in the process.
NIcole Whittern, the 2021 outdoor WAC Champion in the javelin throw, looks to continue to improve in the upcoming outdoor season.
