Seattle U enters this tournament coming off its second tournament victory of the season. At the Mountain Classic Match Play, the Redhawks defeated Cal State Bakersfield, Cal State Fullerton and Boise State in head-to-head play.

Freshman Shayna Lu earned Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Golfer of the Week for her performance at the Mountain Classic Match Play. The Honolulu, Hawaii, native provided a strong presence in the Redhawks' lineup as she won all three of her matchups.

This is the sixth consecutive season where the Redhawks will compete in the Grand Canyon Invitational. Last spring, Seattle U finished third out of 15 teams at the Grand Canyon Invitational with Lugito finishing tied for eighth overall.
