ABOUT THE SERIES VS DIXIE STATE
Seattle U and Dixie State have met just four times in program history with the Redhawks holding a 3-1 edge in the series. Seattle U has won the last two straight, including a 79-68 win in this season's first meeting. In 2020-21, the teams split a pair of games on back-to-back nights in St. George. The Trailblazers won the first game, 77-76, before the Redhawks responded with a convincing 77-56 victory in the second game. Darrion Trammell went for 30 points in the win while Aaron Nettles added 16 points.
A neutral site affair during the 2006-07 season marked the first ever meeting between the two programs. Former Redhawk Assistant Coach Sam Kirby, '08, was in the starting lineup for the contest, finishing with 15 points, four assists and three rebounds in the Seattle U win.
BEST FIRST SEASON AT THE HELM
As Interim Head Coach Chris Victor leads the Redhawks through program's 15th 20-win season, he has entered elite territory among Seattle U coaches who have achieved the feat in their first season. Just four other coaches in Seattle U history have reached or surpassed 20 wins in their first season at the helm:
- 22 wins - John Castellani, 1956-57, 22-3
- 22 wins - Bob Boyd , 1963-64, 22-6
- 21 wins - Vincent Cazzetta, 1958-59, 21-6
