EUGENE, Ore. - Seattle U women's tennis competed in its final match of February on Saturday, traveling to Eugene, Oregon, for a matchup with Oregon at the Oregon Student Tennis Center. The Ducks got off to a hot start and never let up, winning in a decisive 7-0 sweep on their home courts.
Oregon started the match by claiming the doubles point. Freshman Liliya Dimova and senior Aranza Alvarez Sanabria (1-6) teamed up against Allison Mulville and Uxia Martinez Moral, while the senior duo of Hannah Grossman and Jillian Rasmussen (0-6) took on Lillian Mould and Myah Petchey. The remaining doubles match went unfinished as the Ducks had already clinched the doubles point.
In singles play, freshman Mireia Fehr (1-6, 0-6) faced off against Sophie Luescher, while Dimova (2-6, 0-6) battled against Petchey and Alvarez Sanabria fell in identical sets of 2-6, 2-6, against Mould. Freshman Jade Quintana (2-6, 0-6) dropped her match against Ares Teixido Garcia, while Grossman (0-6, 1-6) lined up against Martinez Moral and Rasmussen (0-6, 0-6) rounds out the singles matches against Karin Young.
Seattle U takes a weekend off before traveling to Las Vegas, Nevada, for two matches on Mar. 4-5 against UNLV and Portland at the Fertitta Tennis Complex with both matches starting at 10 a.m.
