UTRGV PART 2
This will be Seattle U's second matchup with UTRGV in the last three games, having played at UTRGV last week. The Redhawks hosted UTRGV for two games last year, splitting the pair at the Redhawk Center. The Redhawks are 3-3 at home against UTRGV under Suzy Barcomb.
BACK TO BAPTIST
Seattle U heads to California Baptist for a Saturday matchup this weekend. Seattle U last played at California Baptist during the 2019-20 season: the Redhawks won that game 83-49, holding CBU to 22% shooting from the field. McKenzi Williams scored 13 in that game and Courtney Murphy 12.
COURTHREE MURPHY
Courtney Murphy made five threes at Lamar, the seventh-most in a single game in Seattle U history. Only four players have ever made more threes in a game than Murphy's five: Kaylee Best (7, 2/16/17), Tal Sahar (6, 12/21/15), Elle Kerfoot (6, 1/14/12), and Murphy, who has made six in a game on three different occasions. Murphy also now has 167 made threes in her career, just one behind Ashley Payne for the second-most in Seattle U history. Murphy can join Kaylee Best (195) as the only Redhawks to make 170+ threes in their careers with three more makes.
THE BREE-TIFUL GAME
Bree Calhoun score 16 at Lamar, her tenth double-digit scoring game off the bench. Calhoun has been held to single figures just twice when coming off the bench. Calhoun has either made or assisted on 24 of Seattle U's last 48 field goals over the last two games. On the season, Calhoun has made or assisted 39% of Seattle U's field goals.
THE STOCK MARKET
Georgia Kehoe reached 50 career steals last weekend, giving her 50+ blocks and steals. Kehoe joins Alexis Montgomery, Kamrica Ary-Turner, and Taelor Ross as the only Redhawks in the Division I era with 50+ career blocks and 50+ career steals. Kehoe has at least one block and one steal in three straight games. Only twice in 20 games this year has Kehoe been held without a block or steal.
I-THREE-NA KOROLENKO
Irena Korolenko has started each of the last five games for the Redhawks. In that time, Korolenko is shooting 37% from deep, with at least one made three in four of five games. Korolenko has made at least one three in 14 of 21 games this season and has made multiple threes nine times. Only three times has Korolenko taken four or more shots from deep without multiple makes. She has just three games taking multiple threes without making one.
THE BIG 4-0-0
Suzy Barcomb secured her 400th win as a head coach last weekend and 68th as the head coach of the Redhawks. In her career, Barcomb has a .594 winning percentage. That includes nine 20+ win seasons. Barcomb is one of just three coaches in the WAC with 400+ collegiate wins, alongside Stephen F. Austin's Mark Kellogg (410 wins) and Abilene Christian's Julie Goodenough (486).
