SEATTLE - Seattle University women's soccer tied, 0-0 in double overtime, with California Baptist Saturday afternoon. Seattle U honored seniors Emily BunnellSydney CarrNatalie DixonBailey HallLauren HudsonGabe JillingsGina LeeteLeahi MantheiMikaela MoreySebelle Rojas and Claire Varden pregame.

"I was extremely happy to see all of our seniors give it their all one last time," said Head Coach Julie Woodward. "This has been a really special group and it was an honor to be able to celebrate them today. I know they leave Seattle U with great friends, teammates and memories."

Both defenses-controlled play throughout the first half as neither side could find that pass to open the scoring. Jessica Berlin got the start in goal and made three saves through the first 45 minutes.

In the second half, Seattle U looked the better team for parts as they forced six corner kicks to CBU's one and outshot the Lancers, 4-3. Seattle U's two best chances in the second half came from Sydney Carr and Gabe Jillings as they both hit the post in the final 25 minutes. Carr fired a shot from about 25 yards out that smacked against the cross bar, while Jillings almost sent Seattle U home with a victory as she hit the right post from the top of the box with 20 seconds remaining.

Neither team was able to get a real quality chance in the two overtime periods as both teams fired three shots at goal. Madison Waguespack claimed one save throughout the second half and overtime after coming on for Berlin.

Seattle U's season concludes after this match with a 2021 season record of 7-8-4. The Redhawks should have some roster additions before next season as they lose eleven talented seniors from this year's squad.
