SEATTLE – Seattle University men's soccer rolled to a 4-0 victory over Dixie State Sunday afternoon. James Morris scored twice, while Habib Barry and Tom Fielding added goals in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) contest at Championship Field.

"It was good to get another shutout," said SU Coach Pete Fewing. "We scored good goals and Hal and the defense cleaned things up on the backline."

Seattle U (6-5-0, 2-1-0 WAC) quickly settled into its preferred possession-heavy style, tilting the field in its favor for much of the first half. Declan McGlynn and James Morris each hit the crossbar early. In the 20th minute, McGlynn gained control on the left flank. He dished to a cutting Morris, who crossed a line drive to the far post. Barry leapt and put enough on the header to get a shot past the Trailblazer goalkeeper to make it 1-0.

In the 32nd minute, the Redhawks cleared a DSU corner kick and Levonte Johnson took off. He made a 70-yard run through the Blazer defense and then passed to an open Morris, who finished back across the goal mouth for a 2-0 advantage.

SU continued to dictate play in the second half and its work paid off with a pair of late goals. In the 86th minute, Morris received the ball near the top of the box. He passed to Barry, who went back to Morris. The Doncaster, England, native calmly finished on the right side for the brace. A few minute later, Fielding intercepted a pass and found himself with a one-on-one chance. He finished from the left side for a 4-0 difference.

Fewing was able to showcase his team's depth in the second half, as five Redhawks came on to help procure the clean sheet on Sunday. The Redhawks held a 23-1 advantage in shots on the day.

Akili Kasim recorded his second shutout of the weekend, giving him 17 in his SU career. He is alone in second place for shutouts in SU's Division I program history. Shane Haworth logged 20 clean sheets in his Redhawk tenure.

SU heads back on the road this coming week, playing at California Baptist and Utah Valley in WAC action.
