EDINBURG, Texas - Seattle University men's soccer won a five goal thriller at UTRGV, 3-2, on Sunday afternoon. Noe Meza, James Morris and Hal Uderitz all scored in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) game at UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.

"That was a great bounce back win after a tough loss," said Head Coach Pete Fewing. "It was a complete team effort and we just kept fighting throughout the entire match. I am really proud of all our guys and we got to see three great goals today."

Seattle U got off to a fast start as Meza pounced on a great cross from Alex Acton-Petronotis in just the second minute. James Morris doubled SU's lead at the 24th minute mark after a beautiful passing sequence came from Levonte Johnson and Declan McGlynn that allowed Morris to finish the shot in the bottom left corner.

In the second half, the Vaqueros clawed their way back into the match, making it a one goal game in the 56th minute. However, Hal Udertiz scored the eventual game winning goal in the 65th minute from the penalty spot. UTRGV scored the final goal of the match in the 70th minute via a deflection.

Seattle U's play of the game came from Akili Kasim who made a tremendous save in the 77th minute to keep the Redhawks up by one. Kasim made seven total saves in this contest.

"Akili had a terrific game today," said Fewing. "He saved us late in this match with a point blank save, I couldn't be prouder of him."

Seattle U will return to Championship Field next weekend for a pair of matches with Houston Baptist on October 29 and Chicago State on October 31.
