CAN YOU DIG IT
Katlyn Sipes recorded 26 digs in the 3-1 win over Southeastern Louisiana. That was the most digs by a Redhawk freshman since 2017, when Tijana Milojevic recorded 33 at Chicago State. Only two Redhawks have recorded more digs in a four-set match since Seattle U moved to Division I: Shelly Anderson had 34 against North Dakota in 2008, while Milojevic had 33 and 31 against Chicago State in two matches in 2017.
HAVING A BLOCK PARTY
Sierra Bartley had back-to-back games with 5+ blocks, recording 11 blocks in matches against New Mexico and Southeastern Louisiana. Bartley is the first Redhawk with back-to-back five-block matches since Lauren McCabe did so last year against Utah Valley and Tarleton State. If Bartley can record a third straight 5+ block game, she would be the first Redhawk since Julia Queiroz in 2019 to do so.
JULIA KILL-ROZ
Entering this season, Julia Queiroz had reached 14 kills just once, doing so in the penultimate game of the 2020-21 season. This year, Queiroz already has two 14-kill games, including a 14-kill, 2-error performance against Southeastern Louisiana. It was the ninth time in Quieroz's career she has recorded double-digit kills while hitting over .400.
DOUBLE DOUBLES ARE GOOD
Two Redhawks had double-doubles last weekend: Darian Goins recorded 20 assists and 16 digs against New Mexico, then Amaris Carter had 14 kills and 14 digs against Southeastern Louisiana. Goins is the first Redhawk to record a double-double without kills since Ezgi Ozkan's 45-assist, 14-dig performance against Tarleton Statee on February 9, 2021. It was Carter's fourth career double-double: all four have been kills and digs.
BLOCKS: MORE!
Seattle U has recorded double-digit blocks in back-to-back games. This is the first time the Redhawks have had double-digit blocks in back-to-back games since 2019, when they did so against CSU Bakersfield and Chicago State on October 5 and 10. The 13 blocks against Southeastern Louisiana were the team's most since recording 15 against Montana State on September 17, 2019.
DEALING ACES
Kylie Waters recorded four service aces against UC San Diego. That doubled her career total entering that match and was her second career match with multiple service aces. That match also saw Waters record her first career kill.
EVE KILL-SCHENBAUM
Eve Kerschenbaum moved to seventh in Seattle U history in kills last weekend, recording her 700th kill. Kerschenbaum joins Cristin Richards, Kaytlyn Dill, Matea Mamic, Martina Samadan, Sarah Jaeckel, and Libby Graff as the only Redhawks to record 700+ kills in their Division I careers. She needs 74 more to catch Graff for sixth.
