Seven Redhawks Named WGCA All-American Scholars

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – For a second consecutive year, seven Seattle University women's golf student-athletes are among those named Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars. The criteria for selection to the 2020-21 WGCA All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – For a second consecutive year, seven Seattle University women's golf student-athletes are among those named Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars. The criteria for selection to the 2020-21 WGCA All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.

Earning recognition for the Redhawks were sophomores Azumi Arai and Megan Kelly, junior Samantha Bruce, seniors Vendela From, Keisha Lugito and Kimberlee Tottori and graduate student Krystal Hu. The seven honorees tops all teams in the Western Athletic Conference.

The Redhawk squad also had seven WGCA All-American Scholars in 2019-20. After earning either one or two honors from 2013 through 2017, four were named to the team in 2018 and six earned the distinction in 2019. From, Lugito and Tottori are four-time honorees while Hu earns the honor a third time. Arai and Bruce are on the list for a second year.

Women's golf closed out the 2020-21 academic year by recording a team GPA of 3.878 for the academic year. The mark was the highest among all Redhawk teams.

The WGCA All-American Scholars recognized a total of 1,432 women's collegiate golfers with this prestigious honor.
