Track & Field, Cross Country Announce 2021 Recruiting Class

SEATTLE – Seattle U track & field and cross country have added eight new student-athletes to its squad for the 2021-22 season, with two men and six women joining the Redhawks beginning in the fall of 2021.

SEATTLE – Seattle U track & field and cross country have added eight new student-athletes to its squad for the 2021-22 season, with two men and six women joining the Redhawks beginning in the fall of 2021.


Grace Cook, a senior at Peninsula High School in Gig Harbor, Wash., earned three letters on their track and field team, competing in the long jump and triple jump. 


Reyna Dismukes joins SU from Bella Vista High School in Fair Oaks, Calif., where she was a sprinter and horizontal jumper with personal bests of 12.73 in the 100m, 25.57 in the 200m, 5.5m (18') in the long jump and 8.5m (35') in the triple jump. Dismkues was a triple winner in the 200m, long jump and triple jump at the 2021 Capital Valley Conference Championships and will also be a member of SU's women's soccer team.


Morgan Lewis, who will also be a member of SU's women's soccer team, is a sprinter out of Casteel High School in Queen Creek, Ariz. Lewis earned one state championship in the 4x100m and three bronze medals; one in the 100m and two in the 200m. She claimed first place in the 200m and third place in the 100m at the 2019 AIA Meet of Champions and has personal best marks of 12.14 in the 100m and 24.50 in the 200m.


Faith Marshall joins the Redhawks as a transfer from Central Washington where she competed in hurdles and sprints. Before Central Washington, Marshall attended Kentwood High School in Kent, Wash., where she was named team MVP, team captain and holds the school record of 14.4 in the 100m hurdles. The Renton, Wash., native competed for Xtreme speed track club where she placed at nationals in the 100m hurdles.


James Parker joins SU as a transfer from Portland where he competed in cross country and as a distance runner. He posted season best performances of 51.35 in the 400m, 1:55.58 in the 800m and 3:54.12 in the 1500m. 


Alyssa Recasner joins Seattle U from Charles Wright Academy in Tacoma, Wash., where she mainly competed in the 100m and 200m sprint. Recasner was a double winner in the 100m and 200m at the 2021 Nisqually League Championships. 


Giuliano Scasso, a senior at Ida B Wells High School in Portland, Ore., is a cross country and distance runner. Scasso placed second at the Rose City Cross Country Invitational Championship, running a new PR of 14:38.8 in the 5k race. In 2019, he finished in the top-10 at the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) State Championships in cross country. So far this spring, he has run a 4:11.31 mile, 3:52.63 in the 1500m and 8:26.70 in the 3000m. 


McKenna White is a cross country and distance runner from Wenatchee High School in Wenatchee, Wash., earning First Team All-Conference honors twice and Second Team All-Conference honors once over four years. White's notable accomplishments include running a two-mile time that ranks eighth all-time in Wenatchee school history. 

The Redhawks now have ten total recruits joining their squad in 2021-2022, as this group joins Azalea Groleau and Lilianne Hargreaves who announced their commitment back in January.
