SEATTLE – Seattle U women's cross country & track and field have added two signees to their 2021 class, as talented student athletes Azalea Groleau and Lilianne Hargreaves signed National Letters of Intent to become Redhawks starting next fall.

"We are very excited to add two outstanding middle distance/distance ladies to this incoming freshman class," said Seattle U head coach Kelly Sullivan. "Both are outstanding students who come from great high school programs and great coaching. Despite not being able to compete last spring or this fall to display even more of their talents, both have continued training and been improving a lot during these really challenging times. Lili helped lead her high school cross country team her junior year to the 4A state title here in Washington and Azalea has been a part of some really outstanding teams at her high school as well. With our entire ladies distance team back next year these two will add a lot to a team that will be really good. We plan to add a couple of more distance ladies during the rest of the recruiting period and getting both Azalea and Lili really helps a lot."

Groleau joins the Redhawks from San Lorenzo Valley High School, in Felton, Calif. She won the SCCAL league title in 2019 and competed in the Central Coast Section CIF meet from 2017-2019. She boasts personal records of 5:09 in the 1600m, 18:40 in the 5k and 18:19 in the 3-mile.

Hargreaves joins Seattle U from Redmond High School, in Redmond, Wash. She was named Cross Country Varsity Rookie of the Year in 2017, Varsity Track Most Inspirational in 2018, Most Valuable Track Athlete and Most Valuable Runner for Cross Country in 2019. She boasts personal records of 5:05 in the 1600m, 10:53 in the 3200m, 18:31 in the 5k and won the Cross Country State 4A Championship in 2019.
