SEATTLE - Seattle U track and field completed its final meet of the 2021 outdoor season on a cloudy, rainy Friday afternoon at the UW Ken Shannon Invitational on the Husky Outdoor Track.

The Redhawks set four new PRs in this meet, two on the track and two in the field events. Senior Kailan Claiborne boosted his PR in the 400m by .13, while sophomore William Sun marked his first appearance in the 400m. Freshman Ashley Hagar and Shannon Sadler both set new PRs in the triple jump as they improved their previous marks by .22 (8.75") and .23 (9.25") respectively.

"The weather played a huge factor today," said Assistant Coach Chad Pharis. "But those who competed gave it their all and I am really proud of all the effort our team has given this year. We are all excited to travel to the Conference Championships next week and you can bet we will be full of energy."

Seattle U's next meet will take them to Edinburg, Texas, for the 2021 Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the UTRGV Track and Field Complex from May 13-15.
