MARICOPA, Ariz. - Seattle U women's golf will make its return trip to Arizona on Monday as it heads to Maricopa to compete in the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic. The two-day event will be held at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club on the 6,131 yards course with a par of 72 from Apr. 5-6.
"This will give us some high quality time together to work on our game in a desert environment much like what we will see at the WAC Conference Championships," said Head Coach Marc Chandonnet.
The Redhawks will be competing against golfers from Santa Clara, Hawaii, Nevada, Boise State, Grand Canyon, UTEP, Gonzaga, New Mexico, Portland State, Idaho, Montana State, Southern Utah, Northern Arizona, CSU Fullerton, Eastern Washington, South Dakota State, Northern Colorado, CSU Bakersfield and the hosts Wyoming. The entire Redhawks squad will be making the trip with the team lineup not yet set.
"We don't often get the chance to bring the entire squad to a tournament," said Chandonnet. "I was excited to be able to share the news with our team and I could see how excited our athletes were. We have six seniors that have been through a lot of adversity over the past year and they have never complained about how hard this has been for them. I am so thankful that we were able to make this work and I look forward to the great time we will have in Arizona."
