Bruce Paces Redhawks at Shortened Pizza Hut Invitational

ST. GEORGE, Utah - Seattle U women's golf second tournament of the season was cut short on Friday when Southern Utah announced that the third and final round would be canceled due to poor weather conditions. The team and individual winners were based on the final scores following the first two full rounds of competition. South Dakota State won the team title with a stroke total of 7-over while their leading golfer, Teresa Toscano, took home the individual title with a shot total of 14-under. The Redhawks finished tied for 7th out of 15 teams, posting a team score of 45-over 305. The event took place at Sunbrook Golf Course in St. George, Utah on the 5,914 yards course with a par of 72.

Junior Samantha Bruce was Seattle U's top performer, finishing tied for 11th with a two-round total of 150 (77-73). Behind Bruce, was senior Keisha Lugito (77-76) who showed improvement with her second round score while fellow senior Kimberlee Tottori (78-77) finished two strokes behind her. Making her season debut was senior Anne Transier (77-79) while sophomore Megan Kelly rounds out the participants for the Redhawks with a two-round total of 159 (80-79).

Seattle U will be back in action on Mar 20-21 in Sedona, Ariz., at the Red Rocks Invitational, hosted by Northern Arizona, at the Oakcreek Canyon Golf Course.
