EUGENE, Ore. — The Seattle U offense stalled on Friday, as baseball fell to Oregon, 6-0, at PK Park. The Redhawks were unable to get much going as they finished the second game of the series with five hits, while stranding six runners.

At the plate, Gavin Rork led the way for Seattle U, finishing 2-for-4 with singles in the first and sixth. Kyle Sherick and Austin Lively each with 1-for-3, as Sherick notched a double in the third, while Lively singled in the seventh. Grant Hesier also had a single in the seventh as he was 1-for-4.

Julian Kodama's hit streak ended at six games but the junior stretched his consecutive reached base streak to 16. Both streaks date back to last season.

Seattle U starter Alex Jemal looked good early as he retired the Oregon hitters in order during the opening two innings. He was then roughed up in the third as the Ducks pieced together a six-run third. The righty settled back in allowed just two hits and a walk in the next two frames, but the damage was already done was eventually charged with the loss.

Jemal then made way for Kohl Petersen, who opened strong with a three-up, three-down inning in the sixth as he tossed three-scoreless innings with one hit, one walk and two strikeouts.

"Our offense stalled again," said Seattle U head coach Donny Harrel. "Jemal had one bad inning and now we've given up 10 runs in two days despite 15 scoreless innings from our pitching staff. I thought Petersen pitched really well in his season debut, so that's certainly a positive. We just have to get the bats going and eliminate those big innings. When we do that, we will be a very good ball club."

Trailing 2-0 in the series, the Redhawks will resume play from Eugene tomorrow with first pitch of game three slated for 2 pm.
