LA QUINTA, Calif. - Seattle U men's golf is looking forward to a busy week ahead with two tournaments scheduled. The Redhawks will first head to La Quinta, Calif., to take part in the Prestige, hosted by UC Davis at the Coral Mountain Golf Club from Feb. 15-17. They will enjoy the Southern California weather for a few days before participating in the University of Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate at Classic Club Golf Course in Palm Desert, Calif., from Feb. 19-21.
"It is exciting to get out of the Northwest considering the current weather conditions," said Head Coach Marc Chandonnet. "It will be nice to get this team to a warmer climate, hopefully knock off a bit of rust and bring an edge to these events. Our team has evaluated our first performance and tried to prepare in a way that compliments their personal needs. I am confident they are ready to compete and I can always count on this group to give everything they have, while keeping a positive attitude. There is no reason we can't have a great week if we make great decisions."
At the Prestige, the Redhawks will be competing against golfers from Denver, Texas Tech, Northwestern, Cal Poly, Colorado State, Nevada, Oregon, Oregon State, California, North Carolina, Oklahoma State, San Diego State, Arizona State, SMU, Arizona, Pepperdine, Marquette and the hosts Wyoming. The field for the University of Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate is still yet to be announced. Seattle U will send senior Gabe Spach, juniors Jack Rahon, Nathan Cogswell and Federico Gutierrez and freshman Blake Kukula.
