DENVER – Seattle U's Jack Rahon has been named as the Western Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for Feb. 19-25, the WAC announced on Wednesday.
"I'm so proud of Jack," said Head Coach Marc Chandonnet. "He loves the game, pays attention to the details and works very hard to search out feedback and implement it into his play. He hits the ball well enough to win – I'm confident that we'll be seeing him do that a lot."
Rahon, a sophomore, led the Redhawks in both tournaments that they entered over the past week, posting a 71.5 stroke average over six rounds. At the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate (Feb. 21-23), he finished in a tie for 21st place out of 119 total golfers by shooting 68-74-73 for a one-under 215. Next, he tied for fourth place out of 85 golfers at The Joust, facing high winds in the third round to finish 70-68-76.
The Redhawks will next compete at the Bandon Dunes Championship in Bandon, Ore., from Mar. 8-10.
