DENVER – The Seattle U doubles team of senior Hannah Gianan and freshman Jade Lancaster has been named as the Western Athletic Conference Women's Doubles Team of the Week for Feb. 3-9, the WAC announced on Tuesday.
The two went 1-1 over the weekend, taking on Wyoming's Mihaela Kaftanova and Ida Krause in a 2-6 loss and earning a well-fought 7-6 (12-10) victory over Montana State's Laura Mary and Linnea Fristam.
This is Gianan's second conference award of the season after earning the WAC Women's Singles Player of the Week title for Jan. 20-26. Lancaster is currently a three-time nominee for WAC women's tennis awards.
Gianan, Lancaster and the Redhawks will return to action on Feb. 14 at the Amy Yee Tennis Center in Seattle, hosting British Columbia at 12:00 p.m. PT.
