SEATTLE – Seattle U men's golf has signed Liam Gill to its 2021 class, Head Coach Marc Chandonnet announced Friday.
Gill, currently a senior at Wayland High School in Wayland, Mass., has averaged 35.6 strokes per match for his oprep career. During his high school career, he has been named team MVP every season, was a DCI All-Star, and a Boston Globe All-Scholastic. Gill also qualified for the 2018 Junior World Championships and won the Challenge Cup Championships.
"We've been working with Liam for quite sometime now and have followed his golf for even longer," said Chandonnet. "I've been very impressed to see his development as a player over the past few years and I attribute that to two things – his work ethic and support system. Liam loves the game, he is confident in himself as a player and like many of our current team members I know for a fact that he will give everything he has to our program both academically and athletically. I am thankful to his parents, his counselors and most importantly to his coach, Bill McInerney, for his support in recommending SU as an option. I believe Liam has what it takes to compete for a WAC Freshman of the Year award and to potentially have an immediate impact as a Redhawk."
