2020 Women's Tennis Schedule

SEATTLE – Seattle U women's tennis begins their lengthy spring season on Friday, Jan. 10, as they set out on their journey to compete for a conference title in 2020.
The season starts with a home match against Eastern Washington on Fri., Jan. 10, at the Amy Yee Tennis Center, followed by a crosstown matchup against no. 13 Washington at the Nordstrom Tennis Center on Sun., Jan. 12. The next weekend will see the Redhawks visit Washington State in Pullman, Wash., on Jan. 18. To close out the month, Seattle U pl ays Boise State in Eagle, Idaho, on Jan. 24 and Idaho State in Boise, Idaho, the next day.
Another home match kicks off the next month, when Seattle U will face South Dakota on Sat., Feb. 1. The next weekend, the team travels to Bozeman, Mont., for a neutral-court showdown against Wyoming on Feb. 7, then going up against host Montana State the next day, Feb. 8. Next, the Redhawks return home to play British Columbia on Feb. 14 and Whitman College on Feb. 15 before heading to Spokane, Wash., for a neutral-court matchup against Fresno State on Feb. 21 and a match against host Gonzaga the following day. They finish their February slate by spending two days in Colorado – first, a bout in Denver against the University of Denver on Feb. 28, then a quick jaunt over to Colorado Springs, Colo., to match up against Air Force on Feb. 29.
After a few weeks off, the women pick back up with the introduction of conference play on Mar. 20, heading to Las Cruces, N.M., to play New Mexico State. On Mar. 21, they face Kansas City on the same court, then take a quick break from Western Athletic Conference opponents for a two-day stint in California; Mar. 24 features a match against Cal State Northridge in Northridge, Calif., while Mar. 25 sees the Redhawks facing Azusa Pacific in Azusa, Calif.
A return to WAC play unfolds with a three-day slate in Edinburg, Texas, where Seattle U plays Chicago State on Apr. 3, UT Rio Grande Valley on Apr. 4 and Grand Canyon on Apr. 5. Finally, the Redhawks travel to Sacramento, Calif., on Apr. 18 to face Sacramento State for their last regular-season matchup. The WAC Tournament, held this year in Kansas City, Mo., will last from Apr. 24-26.
During the 2019 fall season, freshman Jade Lancaster became the first-ever Redhawk to make it past the second round in the Intercollegiate Tennis Federation (ITA) Northwest Regional Championships, reaching the round of 32. The sophomore doubles team of Martina Asciuto and Hannah Grossman also found success in tournament play, winning their consolation doubles bracket at the Washington State Cougar Classic.
