SEATTLE - Seattle U track & field and cross country have added 11 new student-athletes to their squads for the 2020-21 season, with seven men and four women joining the Redhawks beginning in the fall of 2020.
"We are very excited about this incoming recruiting class," said Head Coach Kelly Sullivan. "This group of young women and men are not only talented athletes, but outstanding students and individuals. With the talent and number of returnees we have already in place, along with the addition of this class of recruits, the foundation and potential for both teams has never been better. I personally want to thank our staff for all of their hard work during this challenging time, and to officially welcome this group of new faces to Seattle University."

Jack Crowell, Freshman, Marist High School (Eugene, Ore.), Distance
Jack Crowell is an 800m runner out of Marist High School in Eugene, Ore. DUring his junior season he placed second in the 800m at the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) State Championships with a personal record of 1:55.26. Crowell was also a member of the school's state qualifying 4x400m team. His senior year of cross country saw him finish in the top 25 at the OSAA State Championships.
Amadeus Eckart, Freshman, Charles Wright Academy (Tacoma, Wash.), Sprints/Jumps
Amadeus Eckart is a sprinter and jumper out of Charles Wright Academy in Tacoma, Wash. Each year, Eckart has had consistent improvement across the 100m dash, 200m dash and long jump, recently adding the 400m dash to his list of events. During his junior year he helped lead his school's 4x400m relay team to the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) State Championships.
Matthew Holme, Freshman, Sumner High School (Sumner, Wash.), Distance
Matthew Holme is a middle distance specialist out of Sumner High School in Sumner, Wash. In Holme's junior year he ran personal records of 50.54 and 1:55.95 in the 400m dash and 800m run, respectively, to help lead him to the state championships in both events where he garnered a fourth-place finish in the 800m. Holme's range extends into cross country as well, where he was Sumner High's top runner at the WIAA State Championships this past season.
Alex Jensen, Freshman, Lakewood High School (Arlington, Wash.), Distance
Alex Jensen is a three-sport athlete from Lakewood High School in Arlington, Wash. After qualifying for the WIAA State Championships in the 800m run his junior year, he followed that up by helping lead Lakewood High's team to the state championships in cross country as well as a deep playoff run with the basketball team as one of the team's leading scorers, earning a spot on Washington's All-State Basketball Team.
Sebastian Law, Freshman, Corvallis High School (Corvallis, Ore.), Sprints
Sebastian "Sebbie" Law posted a stellar junior year at Corvallis High School in Corvallis, Ore., with PRs in the 200m dash (22.88) and the 400m dash (49.90) as well as a second-place finish in the 400m at the OSAA State Championships. Law is also an experienced relay runner, having competed in all relay races at Corvallis HS.
Ethan Rashap, Freshman, Bosque High School (Albuquerque, N.M.), Jumps
Ethan Rashap is a horizontal jumper out of Bosque High School in Albuquerque, N.M. Opening up his senior season with PRs in both the long jump and the triple jump after a long offseason of hard work, Rashap is looking forward to bringing that momentum to Seattle University in the fall.
Nate Shani, Sophomore, College of San Mateo (San Mateo, Calif.), Jumps
Nate Shani is a long jump specialist and sprinter transferring from the College of San Mateo in San Mateo, Calif. With a long jump PR of 22-8, Shani is coming in hungry to continue to improve and make a mark within the conference and nationally.
Taylor Marks, Freshman, Hazen High School (Renton, Wash.), Sprints
Taylor Marks was talked into adding track as a spring sport during her junior year at Hazen High School in Renton, Wash. As a soccer star, she gravitated to the 200m dash (25.63) and the 400m dash (56.61). In her first and only year on the track and field team, she won the WIAA state title after running two back to back PRs. Marks will also be a member of Seattle U's women's soccer team in the fall.
Bryana Rogers, Sophomore, Washington State University (Pullman, Wash.), Jumps
Bryana ROgers joins the Redhawks after spending her freshman year at Washington State University. She finished in eighth place at the 2020 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Indoor Championships, scoring for the Cougars with a 38-7.5 triple jump, a season-best. With high school personal records of 39-1.25 in the triple jump, 18-2.25 in the long jump and 5-2 in the high jump, Rogers will be a solid addition to Seattle U's jumps squad.
Kaila Ronquilio, Freshman, Punahou School (Honolulu), Sprints
Kaila Ronquilio was set to defend her back-to-back state Hawai'i High School Athletics Association (HHSAA) titles this spring at Punahou School in Honolulu. As a 200m (25.55) and 400m (57.06) sprinter, Ronquilio had a very successful high school track career, winning state titles in the 400m in both her sophomore and junior years, a top-five finish in the 200m, and a runner-up finish with her school's 4x400m relay team.
Morgan Young, Sophomore, Bellevue College (Bellevue, Wash.), Jumps
Morgan Young is a horizontal jumper from Holy Names Academy in Seattle. Initially enrolling at Washington State University, Morgan transferred to Bellevue College prior to joining the Redhawks this fall. Having worked with high school, club and college coaches throughout her career, Young is excited for some consistent training to continue to improve her personal bests.
