LAKEWOOD, Wash. – Seattle University women's rowing kicked off its spring competition on Saturday, racing three boats in six different races at the Pacific Lutheran University Invitational, hosted on American Lake in Lakewood, Wash.
Both the Redhawks' Varsity 8+ and Second Varsity 8+ raced twice on the day while the Varsity 4+ competed once.
Seattle U's V8+ finished second in each race, improving its time from its first race to second. The Redhawks finished in 7:05.3 and 7:03.6 for the 2,000-meter course.
The 2V8+ boat took second in its first race, finishing in 7:26.5, then came back to finish first in its second race with a time of 7:33.3.
The Redhawks' V4+ boat rounded out competition on the day with a pair of second-place finishes, finishing in 8:25.5 and 8:51.6.
Seattle U's spring schedule continues April 4 when the Redhawks return to Lake Washington in Seattle for the Husky Open.
