ST. GEORGE, UTAH – Seattle U men's golf finished up their first tournament of the 2020 spring season on Tuesday, finishing third out of 12 teams at the Pizza Hut Pat Hicks Invitational. The tournament, hosted by Southern Utah University at the Sunbrook Golf Course in St. George, Utah, consisted of two 18-hole rounds over two days. Utah State won the team title with a compiled score of three under par, with Utah's Colton Tanner taking the individual trophy with a final mark of six-under.
 
Sophomore Federico Gutierrez led Seattle U with a plus-two 146 after rounds of 72 and 74, tying for 17th place out of 88 golfers in the field. Classmate Jack Rahon followed one stroke behind with a three-over 147, posting rounds of 73 and 74. The other three Redhawks tied at plus-seven 151: sophomore Nathan Cogswell (68-83), senior Greg Gionfriddo (81-70) and freshman Will Koepke (74-77).
 
"We had a fantastic trip, and enjoyed each other's company very much, but know that we can do better as a group," said Head Coach Marc Chandonnet. "Everyone on this team understands that we need to improve. We will get back to work and be better-prepared for our next opportunity."
 
The Redhawks will next compete in the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, held from Feb. 21-23 in Palm Desert, Calif.
