PALM DESERT, CALIF. – Hoping to make their mark in their second tournament of the spring season, Seattle U men’s golf tees off at the University of Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate on Friday, Feb. 22 at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif. A total of 21 teams from around the country will take on the par-72 course over a three-day span, teeing off at 7:00 AM PT on each day.

A familiar starting five will compete for the Redhawks: juniors Greg Gionfriddo and Zack Overstreet, sophomore Gabe Spach and freshmen Nathan Cogswell and Jack Rahon. They will be facing off against golfers from Boise State, Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Kansas, Little Rock, San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Clara, South Dakota State, Southern Illinois, Southern Utah, TCU, Texas Tech, UC Riverside, UT Arlington, Western Carolina and host Wyoming. Texas Tech is ranked no. 19 by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

“We had a nice week of preparation, despite some poor Seattle weather,” said Head Coach Marc Chandonnet. “The team is excited for this opportunity.”
