• Seattle U took an 89-62 setback at Utah on Nov. 26. Eight different players scored, led by Joana Alves’ career-high 16 points.
• The Redhawks feature one of the top three-point field-goal percentage defenses in the nation this season. It is holding foes to 20.8 percent success from deep through six games, 20th nationally.
• Washington is 3-3 after winning one of three games at the Gulf Coast Showcase in Florida last weekend. It beat Duke before falling to Fordham and Michigan at the event.
• Amber Melgoza tops the UW offense with 18.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game this season.
• The Huskies were picked to finish last in the Pac-12 Preseason Poll. They took 12th in last season’s Pac-12 standings.
• SU fell at Portland State, 68-43, on Nov. 24. Leilia Orji scored a career-high 11 points off the bench, while Kamira Sanders and Joana Alves added 11 points apiece.
• SU dropped a 67-51 decision at Hawai’i in the 2018 Bank of Hawai’i Classic on Nov. 18. Kamira Sanders scored 18 points in the contest at the Stan Sheriff Center.
• Kamira Sanders was named Bank of Hawai’i Classic All-Tournament Team. She scored 30 points across two outings in the event.
• SU fell, 84-54, to Arizona in the first game of the 2018 Bank of Hawai’i Classic on Nov. 16. Delaney McCann scored a career-high 12 points in the contest.
• The Redhawks dropped a 65-58 contest to Northern Arizona on Nov. 9 at the Redhawk Center. Kamira Sanders scored a game-high 21 points, while Joana Alves posted career highs in points (15) and rebounds (11).
• For the second straight game, SU led late in the fourth period only to see its opponent rally to pull out a win.
• Junior Carla Bieg made her first career start and scored a career-high nine points against NAU.
• The Redhawks led Cal State Fullerton late in the fourth quarter on Nov. 6, but the Titans pulled out a 57-54 decision on opening night at the Redhawk Center.
• Joana Alves scored a then-career-high 13 points to lead four Redhawks in double figures. Madeline Dopplick tallied 11 points, while Kamira Sanders and Delaney McCann added 10 points and six rebounds apiece.
• Madeline Dopplick scored 19 points to lead SU to an exhibition win over Northwest University on Nov. 2. All nine active Redhawks scored in the contest at the Redhawk Center.
• Coach Suzy Barcomb is in her third season at SU. She has taken the Redhawks to a 33-35 record in her tenure. Seattle U advanced to the 2017 WAC Tournament Championship Game and then won the 2018 WAC Tournament. Barcomb is one of two active NCAA coaches to guide three different schools to the NCAA Tournament in Division I (SU), Division II (Cal State East Bay), and Division III (Puget Sound).
• Kamira Sanders is back for her junior season after being named 2018 WAC Tournament MVP. The Redding, Calif., native won 2017 WAC Freshman of the Year honors.
• Madeline Dopplick is the lone senior on this year’s roster. The native of Long Beach, Calif., led the Redhawks with 58 made three-pointers last season.
• SU has added two freshmen and a transfer for 2018-19 season. Courtney Murphy and Sarah Rahon will make up the rookie class, while Olivia Crawford will be eligible after transferring from the University of Hawai’i and sitting out the 2017-18 campaign.
• Seattle U was voted to take third in both the 2018-19 WAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll and Media Poll. Kamira Sanders was selected All-WAC Preseason.
• Transfers Chinwe Ezeonu and Hailey Vice-Neat, along with freshman Georgia Kehoe, will sit out this season and be eligible for the 2019-20 season. Ezeonu is a Seattle native who transferred from San Jose State, while Vice-Neat joins SU from Boise State.
