  • Seattle U picked up a huge win on Sept. 23, winning at No. 16 Washington, 2-0. Noe Meza and Declan McGylnn scored in the second half, while Josh Adachi made four saves for his third shutout of the year.
  • Declan McGlynn and Josh Adachi were named WAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, for the period ending Sept. 23. McGlynn put up a goal and two assists in the win at San Diego and then scored at Washington. Adachi tallied two shutouts, blanking USD and UW.
  • Kansas City has a 1-6-0 overall record, including a 4-1 loss to Air Force in the WAC opener last weekend. 
  • The Roos have lost four in a row after beating Oral Roberts in double overtime on Aug. 31. 
  • SU drilled San Diego, 4-0, on Sept. 19, as four different Redhawks scored in the road win. Declan McGlynn, Hamish Ritchie, Noe Meza, and Orlando Neto each scored. McGlynn tallied a pair of assists.
  • SU held a 19-3 advantage in shots, including a 12-0 margin in shots on goal, in the win at USD.
  • Seattle U stands third in the nation in shots at 17.4 per game in 2018. It ranks fifth nationally with 7.8 shots on goal per game.
  • Gabriel Ruiz scored in overtime to lift SU to a thrilling 3-2 win at UW in the first round of the 2017 NCAA Tournament. The win was Seattle U’s first at Washington since 1971.
  • The Redhawks claimed a dramatic 2-1 win at Loyola Marymount on Sept. 16. Cody Gibson scored the game-winning goal with 36 seconds remaining in regulation. Hal Uderitz assisted on the winner. Declan McGlynn scored his first collegiate goal in the first half of the match.
  • SU took a 2-1 setback at California Baptist in the 2018 WAC opener on Sept. 13. Cody Gibson scored in the first half, but the Lancers answered with two goals to get the win in their WAC debut.
  • On Sept. 9, Pete Fewing coached his 500th career game at Seattle U. CSUN came away with a 2-1 overtime decision at Championship Field. Sergio Rivas scored late in regulation to force OT.
  • SU will look to win the WAC regular-season crown for the third time since 2013. It won both the regular season and tournament titles in 2013 and 2015 before claiming the tournament championship last season.
  • The Redhawks beat No. 14 Akron, 2-1, on Sept. 7, as Sergio Rivas and Gabriel Ruiz scored to lift SU to one of its biggest wins in program history. The Zips went to the 2017 Final Four.
  • SU opened its home schedule with a pair of wins. It beat UC Santa Barbara, 2-0, on Sept. 2 as Noe Meza and Orlando Neto both scored. The Redhawks outshot the Gauchos, 25-5, including 16-0 in the first half.
  • The Redhawks beat Cal Poly, 2-1, on Aug. 31. Connor Noblat scored in the 82nd minute to lift SU to victory in the home opener. Hamish Ritchie scored late in the first half.
  • In the win over the Mustangs, Seattle U put up 26 shots. It held an 18-1 advantage in shots in the second half of the contest.
  • SU was handed a 4-2 setback at New Mexico on Aug. 24. Julian Avila-Good and Cody Gibson both scored in the regular-season opener.
  • The Redhawks were voted favorites in the WAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll, marking the fourth time in the last five years that SU has been chosen to win the league.
  • Nathan Aune and Sergio Rivas have been named WAC Preseason Defensive and Offensive Player of the Year, respectively. Aune was a 2017 United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-American and won WAC Defensive Player of the Year. Rivas claimed United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-Region last season.
  • Nathan Aune is on the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List. He is one of 32 players on the preseason list for soccer’s most prestigious award.
  • Josh Adachi, Nathan Aune, Anthony Ayala, and Sergio Rivas were named All-WAC Preseason. The four seniors all earned All-WAC recognition in 2017.
  • Pete Fewing is in his 25th season at Seattle U. With eight more wins, Fewing will pick up his 300th career victory.
