DENVER – (March 28) Seattle University’s Joe Harvie earned the Western Athletic Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week honors for the week of March 21 through March 27, as announced by the conference on Wednesday.
Harvie led the way for the Redhawks at the Oregon Duck Invitational, finishing in third place in a tournament that included many elite golfers. He shot a 3-under-par 210 to beat out three nationally ranked players in the NCAA Individual Golfstat rankings. His best play came in the opening round, where he shot a 2-under-par 69, including an incredible eagle in the 16th hole.
This was Harvie’s second top-5 finish of the year, and his 73.8 stroke average leads Seattle U on the season.
Harvie and the Redhawks will be back in action next week when they host the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational at Chambers Bay on April 2 and 3.
