- Seattle U earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with a 2-1 win over San Jose State in the 2017 WAC Championship on Nov. 12. Nathan Aune and Alex Roldan both scored as SU won its third WAC title since 2013.
- SU is making its third NCAA appearance in the last five years. It has won a first-round game in each of its two previous showings (2013, 2015).
- Josh Adachi was chosen WAC Tournament MVP after conceding just one goal in 290 minutes of goalkeeping. Nathan Aune, Sergio Rivas, and Alex Roldan were selected to the all-tournament team.
- The Redhawks are 2-2 all-time in the NCAA Division I Tournament. In 2013, they won at Creighton, 2-1, before falling at Washington, 4-2. In 2015, SU defeated UCLA, 1-0, at Championship Field before dropping a 3-1 decision at Syracuse.
- The NCAA Tournament features 48 teams, with the top 16 sides earning first-round byes. The winner of Thursday’s game will play at fifth-seeded Akron on Sunday at 10 a.m. Pacific.
- SU leads the nation in shots per game (19.4) and shots on goal per game (8.1). They also rank second in corner kicks per game at 7.1 this season.
- SU advanced to the WAC Championship game on Nov. 10, getting past UNLV, 4-2 in penalty kicks. The teams played to a scoreless draw to set up the shootout, where Josh Adachi made two saves to lift the Redhawks to the title game.
- Josh Adachi tallied five saves for his 10th shutout of the season in the semifinals.
- SU played the final 60 minutes with 10 players on the field after Julian Avila-Good picked up a second yellow card.
- In the shootout, Sergio Rivas, Alex Roldan, Anthony Ayala, and Cody Buchanan scored in succession for Seattle U.
- Washington is making its fifth NCAA appearance in the last seven seasons. It finished third in the Pac-12 this season.
- In 2016, the Huskies advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16.
- Seattle U beat San Jose State, 1-0, on Oct. 1, to get out to a 2-0-0 start in WAC play. Alex Roldan scored in the 30th minute and Josh Adachi posted three saves in net.
- The Redhawks defeated CSU Bakersfield, 3-0, in the first round on Wednesday. Habib Barry, Gabriel Ruiz, and Sergio Rivas each scored, while Josh Adachi tallied a save for his ninth shutout of the year.
- Alex Roldan dished out two assists in the win. He leads SU with seven assists in 2017.
- Seattle U lost to No. 19 Washington, 2-0, for the WAC/101 Club Cup on Sept. 24. The game was played in front of a sellout crowd at Championship Field. The decision also broke SU’s 21-game home win streak.
- Handwalla Bwanna paces the Huskies with eight goals and six assists this year.
- Nathan Aune was named WAC Defensive Player of the Year at the conference’s awards banquet. He and Alex Roldan were both voted All-WAC First Team, while Anthony Ayala, Sergio Rivas, and Medo Youssef were picked All-WAC Second Team. Josh Adachi and Ozzie Ramos were both honorable mention picks and Habib Barry and Ivory Randle IV were chosen for the all-freshman team.
- Seattle U won, 2-1, at Utah Valley to close the regular season on Nov. 4. Gabriel Ruiz and Sergio Rivas both scored in the victory.
- Seattle U is one of three teams in Division I to win at least 11 games in each of the last five seasons. Akron and Clemson are the only other programs to achieve the feat.
- SU suffered its first WAC setback, a 2-1 double overtime defeat at UNLV on Oct. 29. Tyler John scored his first goal of the season in the match.
- Seattle U settled for a 1-1 tie at Grand Canyon Oct. 27. Nathan Aune scored in the 83rd minute to force OT and allow the Redhawks to clinch a berth in the WAC Championship for a fifth straight year.
- SU compiled 29 shots, 15 shots on goal and 10 corner kicks in the contest.
- UNLV and SU tied for second place in the regular season standings, with the Rebels claiming the second seed due to their win on Oct. 29.
- The Redhawks beat Houston Baptist, 1-0, on senior night Oct. 22. Julian Avila-Good scored his first goal of the season and Josh Adachi recorded his eighth shutout of the season.
- Seattle U outshot HBU, 36-3, in the match. The shot total marked a season high and was the most by a Redhawk team since Oct. 5, 2007, when SU tallied 39 shots against the University of Mary.
- Coach Pete Fewing’s squad is No. 22 in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll and ranked No. 26 in this week’s College Soccer News poll.
- SU defeated Kansas City, 2-1, on Oct. 14, remaining unbeaten in WAC play.
- In the win over UMKC, Sergio Rivas and Alex Roldan both scored, giving both players five goals on the year. SU is the lone ranked team to feature four five-goal scorers this season.
- Seattle U settled for a 2-2 tie with No. 12 Air Force on Oct. 12. Medo Youssef and Habib Barry scored, but the Falcons rallied from a 2-0 deficit to force a draw at Championship Field.
- The Redhawks won, 2-0, at Incarnate Word on Oct. 8. Gabriel Ruiz and Alex Roldan both scored as SU tallied its seventh shutout of the season. It marked Ruiz’s first collegiate goal.
- SU tied, 2-2, at UTRGV on Oct. 6. Medo Youssef scored two goals as the Redhawks settled for a draw in their WAC road opener.
- Seattle U maintained a 21-3 margin in shots at UTRGV.
- The Redhawks hammered CSU Bakersfield, 4-0, in the WAC opener on Sept. 29. Sergio Rivas scored two goals, while Quinn Fahling and Orlando Neto each notched their first goals at SU.
- Josh Adachi was named WAC Defensive Player of the Year on Oct. 2. The redshirt junior goalkeeper notched two shutouts in two home wins for his first conference weekly honor.
- SU held a 22-1 advantage in shots in the win over CSUB on Sept. 29. Seattle U leads the nation in shots per game at 20.7.
- The Redhawks defeated Drexel, 1-0, on Sept. 17. Cody Gibson scored his fifth goal in three games, as Josh Adachi made four saves to pick up his fourth shutout of the season.
- SU outshot the Dragons, 32-4, on Sept. 17. It marked the most shots by a Redhawk unit since Oct. 5, 2007, when SU tried 39 shots against the University of Mary.
- SU scored four times in the second half on its way to a 5-2 win over Santa Clara on Sept. 14. Cody Gibson and Alex Roldan both scored two goals as the Redhawks won their 20th straight game at Championship Field.

- Seattle U went to No. 22 Gonzaga and came away with a 2-0 win on Sept. 9. Cody Gibson scored two goals and Josh Adachi made a pair of saves for his third shutout of the year.
- SU took down Mercer, 2-1 in overtime, on Sept. 7. Sergio Rivas scored 1:42 into OT to lift the Redhawks to their 19th straight win at Championship Field, the longest active home win streak in Division I.
- Seattle U outshot the Bears, 28-4, in the contest. The 28 Redhawk shots were the most by an SU squad since Sept. 16, 2015, when it attempted 28 shots in a 3-0 win over Northwestern.
- Before allowing a goal to Mercer late in the first half on Sept. 7, SU had gone 308:01 without surrendering a goal at Championship Field.
- Seattle U opened the 2017 season with a pair of impressive 1-0 victories at Championship Field last weekend. The Redhawks took down Loyola Marymount on Aug. 25 before beating No. 20 New Mexico on Aug. 27. Noe Meza and Nathan Aune scored SU’s goals as Seattle U moved its home winning streak to 18 games.
- SU entered the United States Soccer Coaches Association (USSCA) Top 25 at No. 25 the week of Aug. 28. It was the Redhawks’ first appearance in the poll since last August.
- Junior Nathan Aune earned WAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after two stellar showings to open the 2017 season. Aune was key in the Redhawks holding their opponents to 10 total shots over two outings. It marks the first weekly award for the Arlington, Wash., native.
- Pete Fewing is in his 24th overall season as SU’s head coach. He has won 288 games in his career.
- Jamie Clark has been the head coach at UW for seven seasons. He has taken the Huskies to the NCAA Tournament five times in the last seven years, including a trip to the Sweet 16 last season.
