NEWS AND NOTES
- The Redhawks went 1-2 at the NKU Invitational Friday and Saturday. They dropped a 3-1 decision to the host NKU, then rallied from a 2-0 deficit to beat Bowling Green 3-2. The weekend closed with a near miss against Sacramento State as the Redhawks fell 3-1.
- Katarina Marinkovic was named to the NKU Invitational All-Tournament Team. The sophomore outside hitter averaged 5.08 kills and 2.38 digs per set in three matches. She tallied 20+ kills in each of the three matches, adding double-digit digs twice for her first two double-doubles of the season.
- Junior setter Shae Harris set a Seattle U DI single-match record with 62 assists in the win over Bowling Green.
- Katarina Glavinic earned her second All-Tournament selection of the season at the SU/UW Tournament. The sophomore middle blocker averaged 1.78 kills per set on a .303 hitting percentage and 0.44 blocks per set.
- Glavinic and Victoria Demmene were selected to the Cal Molten Classic All-Tournament Team. Glavinic averaged 1.91 kills per set on a .500 hitting percentage and 0.82 blocks per set. Demmene averaged 2.00 kps and 1.50 digs per set.
- Katarina Marinkovic leads the team with 3.88 kps, Maja Stojanovic averages 0.87 blocks per set and Shae Harris averages 9.79 assists per set, which ranks second in the WAC.
- Seattle U has a pair of Preseason All-WAC players in Katarina Marinkovic and Maja Stojanovic. Marinkovic is the reigning WAC Freshman of the Year.
- Junior setter Shae Harris, a Vancouver, B.C. native, spent the summer playing with the Canadian National Team.
- Head Coach James Finley enters his fifth season at the helm of the Redhawk program.
- The 2016 squad went 13-15 overall and 6-8 in WAC play.
