DENVER (March 27) – Paige Bouska of the Seattle University softball team is the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Hitter of the Week, for the period ending March 26. The senior broke the school’s all-time hits record in SU’s win over Santa Clara on Sunday morning.

Bouska, a Keizer, Oregon, native, tallied 10 hits in five games at the Gaucho Classic at UC Santa Barbara this weekend. Her two-run triple in the sixth inning yesterday put Seattle U ahead, 4-3, and gave her sole possession of the program’s hit record with 209. She passed Jane Purdy and Isabella Geronimo, who both had 208 hits in their Redhawk careers.

On the weekend, Bouska hit .500 with a double, two triples, four runs scored, and four RBIs. In 2017, the outfielder leads the WAC in hits with 48 and triples with 5. She’s batting .403 through 32 games this season.

Alyssa Reuble won WAC Pitcher of the Week earlier this month. Seattle U opens WAC action on Friday, March 31, at Grand Canyon.
