COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Jan. 14) - Seattle University men’s swimming fell, 123-75, at Air Force Saturday. Jack Baldoni won the 100 butterfly to lead the Redhawks at the meet.
“We put some good races up today,” said Coach Craig Nisgor. “It was really nice for Jack to win. Zach (Zenteno) keeps on getting faster and Tanner (Schelling) and Morgan (Montemayor) were strong, too. We’ve just got to keep building.”
Baldoni’s 50.23 allowed him to touch first in the 100 fly.
Mitchell Crossen placed second in the 100 freestyle, posting a 47.78 to beat out Jacob Morris and Ian Keane, who took third and fourth, respectively.
In the 400 IM, Connor Webb and Grant Gooding finished second and third, respectively. Webb tallied a 4:25.69 and Gooding put up a 4:29.18 in the race.
Morgan Montemayor finished in the runner-up spot in the 100 backstroke. He came in with a 51.84 time. Jason Klein and Gooding placed third and fourth, respectively.
Zach Zenteno, Austin Barnard, and Luke Christensen placed second, third, and fourth, respectively, in the 500 freestyle. Zenteno notched a 4:56.47 to claim second, setting a personal record for the second straight day.
In the 100 breaststroke, Tanner Schelling led a strong showing for the Redhawks. He took second with a 56.77, just ahead of Ben Nussbaum, Connor Webb, and Shawn Fujii, who grabbed the following three spots in the event.
The Redhawks host Simon Fraser on Saturday, Jan. 21. The final home meet of the season is slated for a noon start at the Connolly Complex.
