SEATTLE - (Oct. 26) Seattle University volleyball heads out on the road for the final time this season, traveling to face Western Athletic Conference opponents Chicago State (Thursday) and UMKC (Saturday). The Redhawks enter the weekend at 11-11 overall and 4-5 in WAC play, good for sixth place in the league standings.

ABOUT THE REDHAWKS (11-11, 4-5 WAC)
• Seattle U went 1-1 at home last week, earning a thrilling 3-2 victory over then second-place UTRGV. Freshman Katarina Marinkovic had a huge match, finishing with a career-high 26 kills.
• With her fifth kill Saturday vs. New Mexico State, Matea Mamic became the third Redhawk since the transition to Division I (in 2008) to reach the 1,000 kill mark. She joins Cristin Richards (2008-11, 1,458 kills) and Kaytlyn Dill (2008-12, 1,199 kills) in the elite category. Mamic finished the match with eight kills bringing her career total to 1,003.
• The Redhawks are among the leaders in the WAC in handful of statistical categories. Maja Stojanovic is third in hitting percentage (.326) and fourth in blocks (1.13 per set), Matea Mamic ranks fourth in kills per set (3.45) and third with 0.37 aces per set, Katarina Marinkovic is second with 0.45 aces per set, Shae Harris is fourth in assists per set (8.18) and Iris Ivanis is fourth in digs per set (4.35). As a team, SU is also first in service aces with 1.65 per set.
• Libero Iris Ivanis recorded her 1,000th career dig in the fourth set of the Redhawks’ loss at Utah Valley on Oct. 8. The senior is the only active player in the WAC with more than 1,000 career digs.
• Maja Stojanovic earned her first career WAC Player of the Week honor on Oct. 3 after leading SU with 4.33 points, 3.50 kills on .667 hitting, 1.00 blocks, 0.67 digs, 0.33 service aces and 0.33 assists per set.
• The Redhawks went 2-1 at the Rutgers Invitational Sept. 15-16 to wrap up non-conference play. They took straight-set victories from Seton Hall and the host Scarlet Knights. The win over Rutgers marked the program’s first-ever win against the Big Ten opponent.
• Matea Mamic earned her second All-Tournament selection of the season at the Rutgers Invite. Shae Harris was also named to the All-Tournament Team.
• Matea Mamic and Maja Stojanovic were named to the All-Tournament Team of the Ultra Ankle Challenge, hosted by Oregon State.
• Seattle U was selected third in the 2016 Western Athletic Conference preseason poll.
• 2015 All-WAC selection Matea Mamic was voted to the 14-member Preseason All-WAC Team.
• Head Coach James Finley enters his fourth year at the helm of the program. Under Finley in 2015, the Redhawks had their best season yet, going 18-11 overall and 9-5 in WAC play.
• SU returns seven letterwinners, including four starters.
• The 2016 SU roster has true international flavor as six different countries are represented on the 14-member squad. That includes the United State (five different states), Canada (three different provinces), Serbia, Croatia and Peru.
ABOUT THE COUGARS (3-20, 1-7 WAC)
Chicago State enters the week with a 3-20 overall record and 1-7 mark in the WAC. The Cougars picked up their first WAC win on Oct. 6 versus Grand Canyon. They have since lost five straight matches, including four in straight sets. Dzeni Hadzisehovic leads CSU with 2.68 kills per set.
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST CHICAGO STATE
Seattle U is a perfect 7-0 against the Cougars. The Redhawks swept the home-and-home series last fall with a 3-1 victory in Chicago and a 3-2 thriller in Seattle. Earlier this season, the Redhawks swept the Cougars, 3-0.
ABOUT THE ROOS (11-10, 4-4 WAC)
UMKC will host Utah Valley on Thursday before matching up against Seattle U on Saturday. The Roos lead the WAC in team hitting percentage at .256. They also rank second in kills (13.33 per set), second in assists (12.41 per set), third in digs (14.72 per set) and fourth in blocks (2.15 per set). Emma Hagedorn leads the way with 2.97 kps, good for 10th among all WAC players. Kaylyn Brandt leads the WAC with 10.85 assists per set.
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST UMKC
Seattle U is 5-4 all-time against the Roos. The Redhawks won both matches during the regular-season last year, but dropped the third meeting, 3-2, in the first round of the WAC Championship Tournament. In the first meeting of this season, Seattle U won in straight sets behind 12 kills from Katarina Marinkovic.
