SEATTLE - (Oct. 13) Seattle University men’s soccer looks to keep its Western Athletic Conference streak rolling this week when it travels to face UMKC on Friday before returning home to host Grand Canyon on Sunday at 6 p.m. on Championship Field.

The Redhawks open the week atop the WAC standings with a perfect 4-0-0 league mark to go along with an 8-4-0 overall record.

ABOUT THE REDHAWKS (8-4-0, 4-0-0 WAC)
• Seattle U remained unbeaten in WAC play with a 2-1 win at San Jose State (Oct. 6) and a 5-0 thumping of Houston Baptist (Oct. 8) at Championship Field last week.
• Seven different Redhawks scored one goal apiece and SU displayed its depth, including sending a total of 24 players onto the pitch against the Huskies.
• The 5-0 win over HBU on Sunday pushes the Redhawks’ win streak at Championship Field to 12 straight. The team went 10-1 on its home pitch in 2015, including the final eight matches. This season they are a perfect 4-0 thus far.
• Seattle U leads the WAC in shots (178, 14.8 per game) and corner kicks (67, 5.6 per game). The squad is also second in points (85), goals (24), goals per game (2.00), assists (21), assists per game (1.75), goals allowed (11), GAA (0.91) and shutouts (5).
• Eleven different Redhawks have combined to score 24 goals through 12 games.
Alex Roldan has five goals and two assists through 12 games to lead the Redhawks with 12 points. The senior also leads the WAC with four game-winning goals.
• Ten different players have posted at least one assist, including Jeff Rose who has a team-high four.
• Redshirt senior Jordan Hadden made the first two starts of his career on Oct. 6 and Oct. 8, posting a pair of shutouts against Utah Valley and CSU Bakersfield, on his way to earning WAC Defensive Player of the Week.
• The Redhawks were the preseason favorite to repeat as Western Athletic Conference champions, according to a vote by the league’s 11 head coaches.
• Senior defender Kyle Bjornethun and junior forward David Olsen were selected as WAC Preseason Defensive and Offensive Player of the Year, respectively.
• The duo were also named to the watch list for the 2016 Missouri Athletic Club’s (MAC) Hermann Trophy. Olsen was a semifinalist for the 2015 WAC Hermann Trophy, Bjornthun was the 2015 WAC Defensive Player of the Year. The two were also named NSCAA All-Americans last season with Olsen earning first team honors and Bjornethun picking up second team honors.

ABOUT THE ROOS (2-6-1, 1-1-1 WAC)
UMKC is 2-6-1 overall and 1-1-1 in WAC play. Most recently they dropped a 2-1 decision at Houston Baptist and earned a 1-1 draw against Incarnate Word. The Roos have scored just seven goals while conceding 17. Eric McWoods has two goals to lead UMKC.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST UMKC
Since making the return to DI in 2008, Seattle U is 2-1-0 against UMKC. In 2015, SU won 5-1. The Roos won the 2014 meeting 3-2.

ABOUT THE LOPES (4-6-2, 1-1-2 WAC)
Grand Canyon opened WAC play with a pair of double overtime ties before earning a 3-2 win at Houston Baptist. most recently, the Lopes dropped a 1-0 decision to Air Force. Niki Jackson leads the WAC with nine goals. Only three other players have found the back of the net for GCU. Kendal Day has played every minute in goal, making 30 saves to go along with three shutouts and a 1.12 GAA.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST GRAND CANYON
Since making the return to DI in 2008, Seattle U is 3-0-0 against Grand Canyon. Last year’s match in Phoenix was a tight one as the Redhawks went on to win 1-0 on a David Olsen score in just the third minute of play. The teams combined for 37 total shots in the game.
