PULLMAN, Wash. - (Sept. 15) Scoring woes continued for the Seattle University women’s soccer team Thursday night at Washington State as the Cougars found the back of twice in a 2-0 setback for the Redhawks.

The match marked the third time this season that SU has been held without a goal and the third straight defeat for the 2-4-1 squad.

Karli White provided the majority of the opportunities for the Redhawks, finishing with four shots, all on frame. Natasha Howe also put a shot on frame, but WSU goalkeeper Ella Dederick came up with five total saves on the night to preserve the clean sheet.

Morgan Weaver did all the damage for the Cougars, scoring her fifth and sixth goals of the season, one in each half.

Ashley Routh made two saves in goal for SU as the Redhawk defense allowed just four of Washington State’s 12 shots to be on frame.

Seattle U returns to Championship Field Sunday, hosting Gonzaga at noon.

Sunday is Welcome Back Weekend as all SU students make their return to campus for the 2016-17 academic year. A Redzone Rally at 11am kicks off the day, which includes an SU soccer doubleheader at Championship Field. Women’s soccer hosts Gonzaga at noon, followed by the men’s 3 p.m. kick off versus Davidson.
