SEATTLE – (Sept. 2) Returning to the Pacific Northwest following a two-match road trip in Akron, the Seattle University men’s soccer team makes the trip east across the state to face Gonzaga Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Luger Field.

ABOUT THE REDHAWKS
• The Redhawks went 1-1 on opening weekend, earning a 2-0 shutout of West Virginia and dropping a 1-0 decision to then No. 2 Akron.
• Alex Roldan and Joe Harris each scored in the win over the Mountaineers while Jeff Rose and Julio Rubio each picked up an assist.
• Seattle U enters this week ranked No. 16 in the NSCAA Top 25 and No. 7 in the latest TopDrawerSoccer.com Top 25 poll.
• The Redhawks were the preseason favorite to repeat as Western Athletic Conference champions, according to a vote by the league’s 11 head coaches.
• Senior defender Kyle Bjornethun and junior forward David Olsen were selected as WAC Preseason Defensive and Offensive Player of the Year, respectively.
• The duo were also named to the watch list for the 2016 Missouri Athletic Club’s (MAC) Hermann Trophy. Olsen was a semifinalist for the 2015 WAC Hermann Trophy, Bjornthun was the 2015 WAC Defensive Player of the Year. The two were also named NSCAA All-Americans last season with Olsen earning first team honors and Bjornethun picking up second team honors.
• David Olsen concluded last season tied for the nation’s best in goals scored, finishing the year with 16.
ABOUT THE ZAGS (2-0-1)
Gonzaga enters Sunday’s match with an unbeaten 2-0-1 record. The Zags drew a 1-1 tie against Bradley to open the season and have since won back-to-back matches, including a 4-1 thumping of Illinois-Chicago and 1-0 shutout of Oral Roberts. Six different Zags have scored one goal each while Austin Giftopoulos has one goal and two assists to lead Gonzaga with four points. Ben Willis has played all 290 minutes in goal, making four saves.
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST GONZAGA
Seattle U is 1-5-0 against the Zags since making the move to DI in 2008. The teams last met on Aug. 30, 2015 in Seattle, a match that ended in a 1-0 shutout for Gonzaga. SU’s lone win in the series came on Sept. 28, 2014 - a 1-0 victory at Championship Field.
