Seattle University women's tennis continues success in summer competition as Barbara Carey recently won the 2016 Seattle Tennis Club Ladies Championship.
Carey defeated Kendall Bates, former Gonzaga Bulldog and winner of three Washington State singles titles, in the final. Carey also finished runner-up in the Mixed Doubles Championship.
Earlier this summer, a pair of Carey's teammates also earned significant summer victories as Michelle Lui won the Women's Open Singles Draw at the Oregon State Tennis Championships and Kelli Woodman won the Doubles Draw at Colorado's ITA Summer Circuit.
The Redhawks look to build on their momentum from 2015-16 as well as dominant summer play as they start 2016 fall competition at the Whitman Invitational on Sept. 17-18.
