Seattle University’s Sheldon Stober (Kent, Wash.) has been named the GoSeattleU.com Featured Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of May 16-22, 2016.

The Redhawks won the program’s first regular season conference title last weekend, winning their eighth WAC series of the season, taking two games at Sacramento State.

At the plate, Stober led Seattle U through the regular season (.357), also leading in runs (43), hits (79), and doubles (18). Among conference leaders, he led the league in multi-hit games (26) and ranked in the top five in runs, hits, doubles, and slugging percentage.

Stober not only excels on the field but in the classroom, set to graduate with a bachelor’s in economics and currently earning a 3.047 cumulative GPA.

Seattle U enters this week’s WAC Tournament as the No. 1 seed for the second straight season. The Redhawks have a first day bye and start tournament play on Thursday at 7 p.m. PT vs. the lowest remaining seed after the first round. The winner of the double elimination tournament receives the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
