As part of the celebration, a trio of awards was handed out to each team. On the men’s side, Connor Leahy (Portland, Ore.) was named Most Valuable Player, Tanner Berkabile (Las Vegas, Nev.) was named Most Improved Player, and Brian Nguyen (Edmonds, Wash.) received the Spirit Award.
Michelle Lui (Bellevue, Wash.) was named Most Valuable Player for the women while Sari Kwee (Honolulu, Hawai’i) was named Most Improved Player and Kelli Woodman (Denver, Colo.) earned the Spirit Award.
Each team enjoyed success and significant improvement in 2015-16 as men’s tennis tied their Division I single season wins record and made it to the WAC semifinals for the second straight season. The women also advanced to their second straight conference semis while Woodman and Lui earned All-Conference and All-Tournament team accolades.
