Brock Carpenter (Milton, Wash.) led off the second with a solo home run on a 2-2 count but the Redhawks would trail, 6-1, through the first four innings.
Seattle U started their near comeback in the fifth, scoring three in the fifth and one more in the sixth to trail by one, 6-5. Chase Ridder (Lake Stevens, Wash.) hit a two-run homer before Carpenter drove in a two-out run on a single in the fifth. In the next inning, Ridder singled home Jeffrey Morgan (Auburn, Wash.), who had reached base on a leadoff walk by the Aggies’ incoming pitcher, but the Redhawks left the bases loaded to end the inning.
The Aggies’ Joseph Koerper led off with a solo home run in the sixth on the first pitch he faced and Mason Fishback scored one more on a Trey Stine single in the seventh to fend off the Redhawk attack.
Ridder (3) and Carpenter (2) brought home all five runs for Seattle U while Carpenter led the Redhawks at the plate (3-for-5).
