Saturday, some of the Seattle University track and field team competed at the Ken Shannon Invitational in Seattle, Wash.
While their teammates were at the OSU High Performance meet in Corvallis, Ore., a group of Redhawks represented SU from the hometown.
Alexandro Carrasco, finishing up his first season on the team, set personal records in both the 100 and 200 meter dash with times of 11.83 and 23.96, respectively.
Eleanore O’Neill also set a personal record for herself in the long jump with a distance of 4.73 meters (15’-6.25”).
Her teammates in the same event claimed fourth (Maia Sparkman, 4.86 meters) and fifth (Sandy Dasalla Good, 4.84 meters) places.
Alanna McCarthy (10.08 meters) and Chloe Harris (10.02 meters) also took fourth and fifth places in their event, the triple jump.
Emily Hedberg and Kai Hoshijo can also say they took top-place finishes.
In the 5,000 meter run, Hedberg (19:27.89) claimed first place, while Hoshijo (20:05.14) took second.
The Ken Shannon Invitational is the last meet of the regular outdoor track and field season for the Redhawks before the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Championships.
The WAC Championships begin on May 11 in Lawrence, Kan.
