As a team, the Redhawks improved upon their scores after round one, shooting their lowest team score in round two (291). They finished just five strokes behind sixth-place Fresno State and within 10 strokes of fifth-place Marquette and fourth-place TCU.
Kyle Cornett (Mill Creek, Wash.) led the way for the Redhawks, tied for 14th, improving significantly in each of the three rounds. After shooting an eight-over-par 80 in round one, he shot a 72 in round two, and a two-under-par 70 in round three, Seattle U’s lowest individual round.
Rounding out the top 30, Ross Kukula (Ocean Park, Wash.) finished tied for 29th, shooting a par-72 in round two, joined by teammate Patrick Sato (Bellevue, Wash.), who matched his round two score. Michael Almonte (Fircrest, Wash.) also shot a 72 for SU in round three.
Sato, Joe Harvie (Orting, Wash.), and Almonte finished T34th, T39th, and T67th, respectively.
