After playing a major role in Seattle University baseball’s undefeated week, extending their seven-game winning streak, junior infielder Brock Carpenter (Milton, Wash.) has been named Western Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week (Mar. 28-Apr. 3).

Among starters, Carpenter led the Redhawks at the plate (.706), collecting multiple hits in three of four games on the week. He was perfect at the plate (5-for-5) with two doubles in an extra-innings victory vs. Portland on Mar. 29 to start the week. In a weekend conference sweep at Chicago State, he went 7-for-12 with a double, triple, and home run. He scored six runs and seven RBI’s over the week in which Seattle U went 4-0.

On the season, Carpenter leads the league in RBIs (24), ranks top five in slugging pct. (.558), and top 10 in batting average (.358), doubles (8), and hits (34).

The Redhawks (18-9, 6-0 WAC) join Sacramento State on top of league standings as the only undefeated teams after two weekends of conference play. This weekend, SU heads to North Dakota for a three-game WAC series, with first pitch of game one on Friday, Apr. 8 at 11 a.m. PT. Game two will also start at 11 a.m. PT on Saturday, Apr. 9 with the weekend finale scheduled for 9 a.m. PT on Sunday, Apr. 10.
