“These are the type of matches that we continue to grow stronger from,” said assistant coach Matt Look. “We fought for every point but just ran into a stronger team today. We’re looking forward to a Super Sunday at home versus Idaho and showing everyone how much we’ve improved over the last month.”
Tanner Berkabile (Las Vegas, Nev.) was able to take the first set from Portland’s Jared Madison, but ultimately dropped the point at No. 5 singles. The Pilots earned a doubles victory, winning all three matches, before taking all six singles matches.
The Redhawks return to Seattle to host Idaho on Sunday, Feb. 7 at 10:30 a.m. in the team’s first home match of the season. The match will take place at the Tennis Center at Sand Point (7135 Sportsfield Dr NE. Seattle, WA).
