Seattle University women’s rowing opened their fall season at the Portland Fall Classic on the Willamette River as the varsity 8+ finished third while the novice 8+ finished fourth.
"I think this was a great starat to the season and I'm looking forward to Head of the Lake next week," said head coach Jenny Park.
In the varsity 8+ race, the Redhawks finished just behind the University of Portland to finish in third place in their inaugural race of the season. The novice 8+ featured a boat entirely made of newcomers to this year’s squad.
The Redhawks both continue and finish the fall racing season at the Head of the Lake on Seattle’s Montlake Cut next Sunday, Nov. 8. SU opens the spring season at the Daffodil Sprints on Saturday, Mar. 26, a race the SU novice 8+ won in 2014.
